Teaching Certificate

The College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) Teaching Certificate program is designed to (1) prepare graduate students for an academic career in the field of computing and informatics, and (2) provide a learning opportunity for graduate students to implement active learning strategies in their teaching. Students seeking to earn the CCI Teaching Certificate must fulfill the following requirements prior to graduation:

  1. Attend all CCI Teaching Assistant workshops
  2. Attend two Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) workshops
  3. Attend two Center for Education Innovation (CEI) events
  4. Observe a classroom using the Teachers Observing Peers (TOP) program
  5. Teach a course as an instructor of record
  6. Ask a faculty to observe your classroom
